摇滚乐史上唯一能三次进入摇滚名人殿堂的，只有Eric Clapton一人（分别以 The Yardbirds、Cream团员、以及个人之身份），他将继续以他的音乐让全球的乐迷惊艳。 1945年3 月30日出生，加入乐坛已有30多年，他与一般乐手有很大区别，当其它人都在热衷于流行音乐与摇滚音乐时，他却爱上了黑人音乐布鲁斯。经过长期的学习和磨练，***练就了一手出色的吉它技术，受到许多乐手的垂青，成为六十年代最抢手的吉它手，推出的《sunshine of your love》、《layla》等作品都成为经典名曲。七十年代，***推出了好几张个人唱片，亦发表了不少流行歌曲，可是他不幸先后被毒品与酒精缠上，到了1985年，他成功地戒掉一切恶习，并推出大碟《behind the sun》直至1990年推出《journey man》。1991年，他的爱子意外堕楼身亡，***悲痛之极为亡儿写下一曲哀怨的《天堂之泪》(tears in heaven)， 此曲获得了1993年葛莱美最佳歌曲。同年，他还获得其它四项大奖。三十多年的音乐经历及人生经验，令***成为独一无二的音乐明星。
